Diamond Band Rings Mean Love
Have you ever wondered about why rings are such a big to deal for people? What made us decided that wearing a ring would be desirable? Who thought about rings in the first place? When we look at the history behind these rings, we can find that in Ancient Egypt a covenant that took place between a man and a woman was sealed with rings. At that time they used reeds, rushes, and weeds that could be found along the Nile River. The Egyptians then believed that there was vein of love that flowed from the top of their fingers. The ring was worn on their fourth finger on their left hand, because they believed that particular vein flowed directly to the heart.
Christian tradition later showed that the ring was then worn on the right hand. Some say because they didn’t want to copy the Egyptians; however, others say it is because they thought that the left hand was threatening. Of course we don’t believe that the left hand is threatening anymore, and we do wear our rings on the left hand these days.
I believe that there is just something in us as human beings that desire anything tangible and we can see that it is real. When we get married, we say our vow and seal it with a kiss. But that ring on our finger is a physical reminder of our love and commitment to one another. We don’t know what the Ancient Egyptians were thinking during those days when they decided to “create” a wedding ring, but I think we can all be thankful for that, because it brings us all comfort knowing that we can physically see something and remember.
So what about diamond band rings? It is easy just to think that there are many kinds of rings these days. When I think of a “diamond” rings, however, I think about something fancy and beautiful. But it was really interesting on my part to learn that there are also meanings that go behind these diamond rings.
When you look back at the traditions of a diamond band ring, there was something symbolic about the stone and the ring. The stone and ring spoke about endurance and devotion between a man and woman. This is still true today, and along with this meaning, the diamond rings is also a physical celebration of the promises that have been made. The circle in the ring simply means that the love is forever, because there is no beginning or end.
Eternity rings are a beautiful form of a diamond band! In an eternity ring, the diamonds go all the way around ring, and again it simply speaks of love for eternity. Who wouldn’t want to have a person who loves you and whom you can love for eternity?
The diamond rings can be worn in whatever finger you may choose. If the diamond band is your wedding ring, it is of course traditionally worn on the wedding finger. However, if it is given by others, or probably bought by your own self, you can wear it on any finger. Also another way that many people, especially women, can wear there ring these days is by placing it on a chain and wearing it around their neck. This symbolizes that they would want to wear their diamond band close to their heart.
Diamond bands are really something that you can cherish as a couple, not only does it look beautiful but the deep meanings behind it also speak out volumes. When you are wearing a diamond band, I believe it can certainly not go unnoticed because of its strong appeal. If your diamond band is a wedding ring, not only will it be a physical reminder of your promise and love to one another, but it will also give you both a chance to share your happiness and love with others.
They will notice it, for sure, and when they do you have the opportunity to tell them your love story. It could be a love story about you and your husband/wife, or it can be a love story about a family member or a dear friend. Whatever it may be, your diamond band has a voice, so go ahead and shout it out to the world, because every story of love is something worth sharing!
